About Constantly Crafty

I craft constantly. I may not be actually making something, but every single day I am thinking about projects, collecting supplies, drawing inspiration and participating in the crafty community. Before 2012 this blog was focused on projects and when those projects grew less exciting I stopped posting about them.  Now I am going to be talking more about the creative life than the end product.

Being creative is a part of my being, it is not something I turn off and on at will. I nurture my creativity every day, despite the plethora of chronic illnesses that I struggle with incessantly. If I focus as much energy and attention as I possibly can on the creative parts of me, the parts of me that are tired or in pain become less important.  Crafting helps me hold it together in the tough times and celebrate in the good ones. I’m never without pain or brain fog or fatigue (and you can read more about that on a different blog of mine, coming soon) but those are merely obstacles. Even when I am unable to get out of bed, I can be making in my head.

So I welcome you to come with me on this creative journey. I’m going to talk about everything that feeds my creations, my opinions of tools, supplies, classes, books, videos, shops, chats, big events and little — I’m here to share what I do that is crafty even when I am not able to get up and use my hands to create a finished item. I admit there is some bias: I’m keen on anything that can help make my life easier so disability-friendliness will naturally be a part of how I evaluate things. But hopefully you will be able to follow in my footsteps (or on some days, wheelchair tracks) and find ways to add to your creative life as well.  I might even post projects ;)

I look forward to getting to know you.
